    Description

This vintage fire door by the Richmond Safety Gate Co is a treated wood door clad with metal and was built to withstand hours of potential fire spread. This door is all original with a century's worth of character. The top of the door is offset because the door was meant to roll down a track and slam shut using gravity when tripped. The rolling hardware was mounted with one side higher than the other to make that happen.
It was salvaged from the historic American Electric building in St. Joseph, Missouri, which went up in 1892. See last two photos.
    Dimensions:
    48.5" wide
89" tall on one side, 86" tall on the other
    2.5" thick
    about 250 lbs
Available for local pickup in Warrensburg, Missouri (about an hour east of Kansas City). If you live in the midwest I may be able to deliver it. It is too big and awkward to ship using a standard freight service but you can find an independent shipper and get quotes using a service like uship dot com.
