Small Pox  ~  Whooping Cough  ~  General Quarantine
    Set of 5 Different
This set of 5 signs is how they Informed the public a century ago!
This is how they identified Pandemic Hot Spots Before WW II. It wasn’t uncommon to see these one foot wide, bright red signs, on the doors or in the front windows of homes where these maladies were prominent in the early to mid-20
    th
Century. Small Pox, Whooping Cough, Contaminated Water, Dangerous Construction Techniques, and Dangerous Health Hazards were prominently and publicly warned about by displaying these signs on the house.
Any infectious, communicable disease detected on a premises was notably displayed with these signs placed in the window, or tacked to the door, by the Peoria, Illinois Health Department. Dated 1937 and 1943, they are 1 foot wide and 7 to 9 inches high. Printed on thick cardboard. They are obsolete now because Small Pox and Whooping Cough have all but been permanently cured with vaccines. The bright red color hadn’t faded because they were stacked together in a box. Perfect condition. Sent to you by First Class Mail.
