1988 Hess Toy Truck And Racer.
This was another year of firsts for the Hess Toy Truck fleet. For the first time ever, the truck was not based on an actual Hess vehicle. This was also the first year the truck was two toys in one. The combo creation features a trailer truck and a GT-styled, friction-powered racing car, marking the first motor used in a Hess toy. In yet another Hess Toy Truck first, the trailer truck and the racer each have license plates bearing the year of issue, making it easier to identify the truck model by year, a tradition still followed today. Finally, the famous "Hess Truck's Back" jingle premiered in this model's television ad.
Overall both are in good condition with lights working on the truck. Obvious discoloration on truck cab and racer.
